Head Over Meals for Erie Restaurants!
Thursday Dec 17th, 2020
Erie’s restaurant scene is an ever-evolving landscape of flavors, fare and creativity. Over the years our area has been home to some really cool restaurants both present and past (anyone remember Paper Moon or The Dry Dock?). Restaurants are great places to meet up with old friends, new friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances, all while enjoying a great meal. So when we hear of a restaurant closing its doors, it’s always sad news. However none of us were prepared for the devastation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurant industry has been one of the hardest hit; many having to shut their doors permanently, close temporarily or try to carry on by offering take-out, curb-side pick-up or delivery. The constantly changing restrictions brought on by this awful pandemic have forced local restaurateurs to get creative and devise new ways to keep their doors open. Some have even constructed unique heated outdoor spaces. Heated dining igloos at the Bayfront Grille, covered heated patio at The Colony Pub and Samurai Kitchen and Sushi has a beautiful heated outdoor patio. Then there’s Oliver’s Rooftop at the new Hampton Inn on the Bayfront. In addition to take-out, they are offering In-Suite dining where people can reserve a hotel room for use as a private dining room!
What can you do to help? It’s simple: Order take out, pull up for curb-side pick-up or schedule a delivery. Another option is to purchase gift cards or online merchandise. The pandemic isn’t finished with us yet and it’s crippling our restaurants. Support them any way you can so they can continue serving up culinary creations and traditional favorites for years to come.
HEY!!! Don’t forget about all of our local wineries, breweries, attractions and shops! They need our continued support too. For a complete list of our partner businesses, please visit our web site.
Below is a list of our partner businesses that are currently open during these recent restrictions. The indoor dining ban runs now through January 4, 2021 (at least). They are offering food for take-out, curb-side pickup, delivery or all of the above. Check with each individual restaurant for specific details and if they offer any specials, online merchandise and gift cards. Delivery is offered either on their own or through food delivery apps (Door Dash, Grub Hub, Uber Eats).
COMING SOON! ERIE RESTAURANT WEEK JANUARY 24 -FEBRUARY 6!
Stay tuned for details.
